Our Mission

Peterson Remodeling, Inc. is a company built by its reputation for its integrity, not only with its customers, but with its employees, and the community at large.

We have been able to achieve this reputation with our customers by focusing on production over sales. As a company we focus on gaining customers for life. We have been able to make this a reality by following through with the projects as promised, and treating each homeowner and their property, with the respect and kindness we would wish upon ourselves. At the end of each project our goal is to have helped each homeowner create something that, not only they are proud of, but that their neighbors are jealous of.
We provide our employees with a work environment that allows them a place to create, grow, and provide for there families; a place that each employee can be proud of.
We show the community at large our integrity and character through our day to day actions. Treating our subcontractors, suppliers, and all those we come in contact with respectfully and courteously. While also: having manners, being polite, and taking pride in ones self and the work that they have completed.

Raymond J. Peterson, President/CEO

Raymond J. Peterson, a native San Diegan, married his High School sweetheart Kelly in 1978. Ray decided early on that he did not want to work for anyone else but himself. With this in mind, Ray decided to start up a business of his own, a business that he could eventually build and grow for himself and his family.

In 1981 Ray created RJ Peterson Construction, eventually incorporating the company and changing the name to Peterson Remodeling, Inc. in 2000. Now one of only six NARI certified Kitchen and Bath Remodelers in San Diego County and an affiliate of the California Chamber of Commerce, Ray has prided himself on the integrity of his company and the final result of his work. Ray’s knowledge and dedication, has even allowed some of his work to be published in the San Diego Home/Garden.

The professionalism, honesty and integrity, that Ray has shown his customers, employees and the rest of the community, has helped Peterson Remodeling, Inc. gain, not just, customers but friends for life.

Shannon Peterson, Corporate Secretary

Shannon Peterson recently joined the family business after graduating from the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelors degree in Sociology/Administrative Studies, concentrating in Human Resources Management.

While attending the University she spent two of her four academic years playing Division I softball. With more than 13 years of team sports under her belt, she knows what it is like to be a part of a team. Shannon has come into this company eager to learn, and looking forward to contributing valuable new ideas and opinions.

Working for Peterson Remodeling, Inc. previously in High School she is very excited to join the family business once again.

“Working with my father once again,” says Shannon, “I am very excited to see what ideas my father and I can come up with together.”

Thomas McGuire, Foreman

Thomas McGuire originally from New York moved to San Diego in 1966. In 1969, Tom married his wife Mary. Now with four children and eight grandchildren, Tom has remained a loyal family man and employee.

Tom is one of the true craftsmen of this industry, with over 40 years of experience. He contains a great amount of knowledge in many fields including: painting, trim, cabinetry, rough carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, ect.

Prior to working for Peterson Remodeling, Inc. Tom spent 22 years working for the US Navy as an Electrical/ Hydraulic Mechanic. After retiring from the Navy, Tom soon after joined our team, which at the time was still RJ Peterson Construction. A loyal employee, Tom has remained with the company now 18 years.
